B.K.S. Iyengar has been described as the world's foremost exponent of Yoga and has devoted a lifetime to
studying it and perfecting his own technique.

His system of teaching enables all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of yoga. Iyengar yoga places great
emphasis on precision and encourages the use of props (usually belts, blocks and blankets) where needed,
to aid learning the postures (asanas) and to give support and direction in them.
With their use it is often possible to stay longer in a particular asana and thereby obtain maximum benefit form it.
If the various parts of the body are worked systematically and in the correct way then the body can function
at its optimum. However Yoga does not just work on the body it is also well known for its ability to relieve
stress and lift the spirits. It is a truly holistic method of obtaining and maintaining health.
